Herbert John Werren, 85, Noblesville, died March 4 at his home. He was born June 21, 1931, to the late Herbert and Marie (Klick) Werren in Erie, Penn.

Herbert proudly served his county in the United States Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Purdue University School of Engineering and received an MBA from the University of Michigan. Herbert worked for Allied Signal Corporation, retiring as vice president of the Automotive Division. He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity at Purdue and the Black Horse Troop at Culver Military Academy. Herbert was also a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt, fish and golf. Most of all, Herbert enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene Sue Werren, son Dwight Matthew Werren, daughter Melanie Susan (Mark R.) Tonn and five granddaughters, Chelsea Werren Prajapati, Elizabeth Anne Werren, Mackenzie Marie Tonn, Macie Kristine Tonn and Madison Kiley Tonn.
