Anna’s take: Taxman Brewing Company’s Fortville location is so spacious it is by far the safest place I’ve felt while dining indoors during this pandemic. In addition, it has an exposed brick-backed bar showcasing dozens of Taxman beers, all Belgian. The menu also is much better than your typical pub fare, and my favorite item was the fried chicken and waffle, a Miller’s Amish chicken atop braised greens and a liege waffle. Other excellent items are the signature waffle dessert ($8), with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a dollop of house-made whipped cream and Belgian chocolate. Another entrée option is the Fortville Burger ($15), with 8 oz. of locally sourced beef, bacon and American cheese. Taxman Brewing Company was a great place to discover and is now one of my favorites.
