Spring Mill Road over I-465 is closed in both directions as a result of a multi-vehicle accident.
Tim Griffin, a spokesman for the Carmel Fire Dept., said first responders successfully extricated one person trapped in a vehicle and that three people were transported to the hospital. Several other people were treated for injuries and released at the scene.
