Logan O’Connell is a 2023 graduate of Carmel High School who earned a perfect score on the ACT. He plans to attend Purdue University to study industrial engineering with a business minor and certificate in entrepreneurship.

What is your favorite subject in school?

I enjoy anything relating to math, especially physics. My favorite class in high school was AP Physics 1.

Any tips for studying for tests and exams?

Do your best to pay really good attention in class. By focusing my efforts on absorbing material, I’ve been able to succeed without taking notes or studying too much.

What is your dream job?

I’d love to be an entrepreneur and run my own business. I also enjoy investing and could see myself having a future owning real estate.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?

Rejoice in everything, find joy in the hard times, and always be thankful for what you have.

What is your best habit?

I go to the gym for about two hours almost every day. It’s really good for not only my physical health but also for building discipline and mental health.

What is your dream vacation?

I enjoy a relaxing vacation in the sun, so anywhere near the equator.

What food do you most dislike?

Anything with a spicy sauce.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?

It would be cool to be super smart, like the next Einstein or Gauss.

Do you have a hidden talent?

I’m really good at rock paper scissors and guessing correctly on multiple choice tests solely based on intuition (hence the perfect ACT score).

What is your favorite meal in town?

I’m a regular at Subway. The workers there call me “Turkey Man” after my signature double-turkey sandwich.

What is your go-to song to get pumped up?

I love the song “Capo” by NLE Choppa.
